I grew up about an hour north of Dayton. Wright State's proximity to my homeland was one appealing reason I chose to further my education as a Raider. I don't see the reason to leave home when everything I currently need is in my backyard, so to speak. I also have family who are Alumni and all had great things to say.
I currently commute about 30 miles one way and am very thankful that it isn't any farther away than it already is. I am also appreciative of the size of campus. I went to a small school with a graduating class of less than sixty, so if this campus was any bigger I would have a meltdown. Outside of my limited scope on the world, campus seems rather quaint and looks like a comfortable, easy place to settle down and learn some knowledge.
Having felt a large sigh of relief to be finally starting college, I feel this is where I was meant to be. Like some giant expedition around the world and I've finally settled back down near my roots. Better late than never! After all, my wife has two bachelor's degrees to my zero. I better start cracking down on my schooling.
You know, it's better late than never. Also you have all this life experience to help you along the way.
ReplyDeleteI like your catchy, clever title for this blog. Also, you have good writing skills! Now you can start "cracking down" to catch up with the wife!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you about everything! I now commute here and it's a little far to drive but I wouldn't change it. I also graduated with a little over forty kids in my class, so I understand the size of campus concern!
